RACE CALL: National Road Relay’s: Loburn 68

The pinnacle relay event of the year is on our door step.

Entries are now open for the National Road Relay’s! There are competitive and social team options ranging from 8 to 2 person teams.

This year the course is based in Loburn just north of Christchurch. Loburn Domain is the central hub of the event with relay legs varying in lenth and terrain.

Race Call! Governors Bay to Lyttelton – the chase is on

This is a race for our Senior Club runners (16+).

A chasing start event aims to create a mass finish by the slowest runners heading off first and the faster runners chasing them home. Holding off those chasing makes this an exciting event and usually means people run faster than they would normally.

  • Distance: 10KM
  • Course Profile: Undulating
  • Event start: 9.30am @ Governors Bay School
  • My personal start time: based on your flat 5km time. Start times can be found here 24 hours before the race.

There is an option to bus to the start from Lyttelton for $10 cash on the day. Please let us know on your entry, if you would would like to bus to the start.

Saturday, 02 September 2023: Lake Roto Kohatu

A great warm up for the National Road Relay!

Set in a beautiful lake environment, this is a great course over a range of terrains. While predominately tar seal & gravel roads there are grassy tracks in places.

​The course has a few undulations, but overall considered to be very fast and runnable for all runners. Road shoes are recommended.

  • Junior Team running order: Alex / Neve / Harri / Fred – 2.30pm start
  • MW running order: Fiona / Robyn / Helen / Jen – 12.30pm start
  • MM (to confirming running order on Saturday) Mark / Sam / Nathan / Martin – 12.30pm start

Race Call: Canterbury Road Champs

26 August 2023 – Burwood Forrest Park

The 2023 championship race is an event which celebrates those runners that are part of the road running community. The Canterbury “Champions of the Roads” are the grade winners in this Canterbury Road Running Championship event hosted by Athletics Canterbury.
 

This Championship event offers registered athletic club runners and affiliated clubs in the region the opportunity to be selected to represent Canterbury in National Road Championships. The course will consist of laps on Landfill Road. It is flat, fast and fully certified.
