Race Call! Rawhiti XC

Saturday 27 May @ Rawhiti Domain

The Rawhiti Races is the first of the fast- paced individual runs of the season. It is a challenging event over the ups & downs of Rawhiti domain. This event is run over a mix of grass and trail. It can be a challenge especially for the later laps.

There is a “short-course option” for all runners 20 years and older. People wishing to run in these grades must enter this grade, 

Junior races start at 1.15pm with the adults starting at 1.55pm for the Women and 2.35pm for the Men. For more information please head to the race website here

Entries close at 6.00pm on Monday, 22 May 2023. On the day entries are available for $20 per adult cash or $10 per junior

McLeans Muster Fundraiser – Support Jess and Kate representing NZ at the World Trail and Mountain Running Champs!

After impressive performances and the qualifying events, both Jess and Kate have been select to represent NZ at the World Trail and Mountain running champs to Austria in August. To help get them there they are holding a fund raising event at McLeans Island

Next up on the XC Race Calendar, the Lionel Fox Relays.

This event is in Rangiora, offers a wide variety of terrain and is considered a true XC trail run.

The Senior and Masters women’s and men’s event is a 4 x 5k circuit starting at 12.35pm.

Our under 18’s event is a 4 x 2.5km circuit starting at 2.35pm.

Hagley Memorial Relays – Saturday, 29 April 2023

It’s time to kick-off with the first XC Relay race of the season!

The Hagley Memorial Relay is a 4 person team relay with each runner completing a 4km lap on mainly flat grassy parkland at North Hagley Park. Event information can be found here. Junior Training – XC season is about to Kick-off

The Junior XC season is about to get underway. Please see below for key information

Tues April 4th 4.45pm to 5.30pm – pre season “get together/ run around” @ the Ferrymead football playing fields. All abilities welcome.

Main training school terms 2 & 3: Tues and Thurs 4.45 to 5.30pm. Come to one or both.

Racing available approx every two weeks.

Lakes Reserve Run – Lake Roto Kohatu – Entries available on the day

The Cross Country season is starting

The Cross Country season kicks off on Sunday the 2nd of April with the Lakes Reserve Run.  This event, at Lake Roto Kohatu, is designed to be a low key welcome-back for existing  members and / or an opportunity to test out cross country running for new people.

You can enter on the day by paying cash on the day at $10 per adult; $5 per Under 18 and $20 maximum for families.

NZ Mountain & Trail Running Champs

Event and selection information

The World Mountain and Trail Running Championships are being held in Innsbruck-Stubia in Austria 07-10 June 2023. There are two qualifying races coming up in March

NZ Mountain Running Champs – 18 March – Mt Maunganui – event details and entry information can be found here

NZ Short Course Trail Running Champs – 26 March – Dunedin – event details and entry information can be found here

If you would like to be considered for Selection to race in Austria, information can be found here. Please note that you need to submit your application by 5.00pm on 24 February 2023.
