World Famous Club Christmas Handicap Race!

WEDNESDAY, 13 DECEMBER 2023 – HAGLEY PARK

Many traditions come with the festive season, for SRC it’s the 5km handicap race.

But wait, there is a twist … it’s not how fast you are but how accurate you are based on your predicted time. If you are more than 3.25% quicker than you say, don’t expect to be on the podium. That’s the qualifying limit to have a counting time. (For those who need some easier maths, it’s about 2 seconds per minute).

There is more than just bragging rights , there is a trophy up for grabs.

When:  Wednesday, 13 December

Start:   First runner will head off at 5.40pm

Where:  Hagley Park (same course and start as the 5km Series)

Rules enforcer:  David Fitch

This event is open to all club members, whanau, and friends. Afterwards we will be heading to Volstead on Riccarton Rd for some refreshments – just a short walk from the park.

Entries need to be in by 7:30pm Tuesday 12th December. Enter here

Saturday, 16 September 2023

This is a race for our Senior Club runners (16+).

  • Course Profile: Undulating
  • Event start: 9.30am @ Governors Bay School
  • My personal start time: based on your flat 5km time. Start times can be found here 24 hours before the race.

There is an option to bus to the start from Lyttelton for $10 cash on the day. Please let us know on your entry, if you would would like to bus to the start.

Entries are now closed. Remember to check out the race website on Friday 15 September for your start time (link above)
