At our online AGM this year we “presented” two special awards to two awesome members of our club.
Fiona Gilroy was the recipient of the Bob Boland Cup for her outstanding running achievements during the 2025 season. Fiona made a clean sweep of the Challenge series during the year as well as performing well at all other events including the winning of the 10k Governors Bay race in her grade. Congratulations Fiona on a great year – you are looking in excellent shape for a great 2026 as well.
Richie Dimbleby is the key person behind the success of the Children’s section of the Sumner Running Club and a very well-deserved recipient of the Sumner Running Club Anniversary platter – the award presented to the person in the club who has made the most outstanding contribution during the last year. As stated in the Junior report, Richie has given his all to ensure our younger members can achieve well at club, local and regional levels. His enthusiasm and drive is fantastic and our club is very privileged to have him. Thank you Richie for all that you do.
