Most of you will have felt that slight dip in temperature which signals winter activities are about to begin and this year the Canterbury Cross Country season gets underway with a new format event at Nga Puna Wai on 31 March. Time to lace on those cross country shoes and get out in that autumn air.
The Sumner Running Club will be holding their open day on Saturday 30 March. Come along to the clock tower in Sumner and pick up a programme of events for the year, join us for a group run (there will be a group to suit your speed and distance), meet our latest New Zealand reps, ask any questions you have, sign up for the Hagley Relays, have coffee, tea and biscuits, and spend some social time with other club members at the Village Inn afterwards.
When: Saturday 30 March
Where: Sumner Clock Tower
Nga Puna Wai Relay
The first event is a relay (or an individual mile if you prefer), at the new athletics hub at Nga Puna Wai. It is a great chance to visit the new facility if you haven’t already been, and the event format means you don’t necessarily have to hit top form early in the season! The winning team is the one who estimates their overall time the most accurately. Details of the event can be found here.
Email email@example.com by Thursday 28 March if you are interested in being part of a team.
