If you’re into off road running, multisport, orienteering and adventures and live in Christchurch then the Sumner Running Club would be worth joining. Christchurch’s only adventure focused Running Club.

Being a registered club, you get to compete in the excellent winter programme of cross country and road races. Races are up to 12km against the best competition in New Zealand. Guaranteed to improve your running when you head back to those multisport and endurance events.

With a proud and rich history, Sumner is a competitively social club with a superb junior section if you have children. Annual registrations start in April each year. Annual fees are approx $150 which covers all race fees for the Athletics Canterbury winter Programme. Great value for money when considering the number of races, club networking and opportunity to learn or share knowledge with a great bunch of people.

Members live all around Christchurch and further afield.

  2. Hope everyone having a great holiday and summer break. Am hearing some great stories about some epic training all over the hills and backcountry. Brilliant!!

  3. Fantastic turnout at the 5 K racing on Tuesdays! Kev counted at least 12 blue singlets all giving it death in this most excruciating of racing. All from SM to MM so come on you SW and MM there’s a challenge for you!

  4. Great to get the new season underway at the Hagley Relay. A bit wet and grim but made for classic cross country.

Hi there. I was wondering when the club meets? Are there weekly off road club runs? Any during the week days?

    Thank you,

Hi. My son who is soon to turn 9, would like to join but I can’t seem to get in contact with the people listed as a contact for Juniors. How do I contact/what do I do for him to join? Thanks, Natasha C
