A balmy late spring evening eluded us for the second race of The Frontrunner Offroad Series. Or at least a late southerly change was forecast and while it didn’t quite eventuate, it may have contributed to a downturn in entry numbers from the previous week. It was still great to see a few more new faces, plus familiar faces from last week however.
Four new course records were achieved (the first course records having been set last week) – Alistair Richardson (Junior Men), Tane Cambridge (Senior Men), Kath Atkin (Veteran Women) and Peter Richardson (Classic Men). It will be interesting to see if these times can be sharpened up even further this week at the final race in the Series.
Our Series leaders at this stage are Ayrton Shadbolt (Boys 10-12), William Richardson (Boys 13-16), Alistair Richardson (Junior Men), Tane Cambridge (Senior Men), Clive Thomas (Veteran Men), Peter Richardson (Classic Men), Tayla Clarke (Girls 10-12), Ella Harris (Girls 13-16), Lisa Brignull (Senior Women), Kath Atkin (Veteran Women), and Bernadette Jago/Jean Cory-Wright (Classic Women).
The Series prizegiving will take place at the conclusion of this Wednesday evening’s race, so bring a picnic tea and we look forward to seeing you there!
